The Weekly Roundup: Hello Moon

Photo Of The Week: A cute little toy motorcycle race!

Here's your roundup of awesomeness for the week! Hope you enjoy!

The man on the moon

Monday was Moon Day in celebration of Neil Armstrong's historic walk on the moon. On July 20, 1969 the Lunar Module "Eagle" touched down on the moon and a few hours later Armstrong took his first step onto the moon. Everyone probably knows the memorable words he uttered, "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind".

Lazy days...

Wednesday was Hammock Day, celebrating the relaxing, lazy, Dog Days of summer. I don't have a hammock but I always enjoy unwinding outside in a patch of shade in the evening after a busy summer day.

Fun, sun, and barbecues...

Thursday was National Hot Dog Day, in honor of the All-American summertime staple. Hot dogs always remind me of summer holidays, baseball games, and family dinners filled with potato salad and ice cream. And of course, if you want to spice up your hot dog, there's plenty of creative toppings you can add in too.

Amelia Earhart was one of the pioneers of aviation

Friday was Amelia Earhart Day, in honor of the famous female aviator. She was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic, and the first woman to fly solo coast-to-coast. Amelia disappeared in 1937 during an attempt to fly around the world. I think we all can learn something from Amelia Earhart who said, "The more one does and sees and feels, the more one is able to do, and the more genuine may be one's appreciation of fundamental things like home, and love, and understanding companionship". She also had some wise words for women everywhere: "Women, like men, should try to do the impossible. And when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others." Well said, Amelia!

Enjoy your weekends everyone! I'll see you again next week!
