TGIF: Swimming With Dogs

Swimming is tons of fun!

Happy 3rd of July! It's Friday again which means it's finally time for TGIF:5 Things To Be Thankful For This Friday!

1. Swimming with dogs

I love to take my dogs swimming with me and they always have so much fun splashing around in the water! Sometimes the two of them will just chase each other around and around through the shallow water and over the sand. They both like to swim too and will sometimes chase toys out into the water or just swim around after their two legged family members.

Little baby ducklings, all in a line...

2. Ducklings

One of the cutest things in the whole world is baby ducklings! I love their little downy yellow bodies and their adorably miniature duck bills and webbed feet. My poultry flock only includes chickens and guinea fowl right now but some day I really want to add some ducks. Then I'll get to enjoy some ducklings first hand!

Yum! Homemade mac and cheese...

3. Macaroni and cheese

One of my favorite comfort foods is homemade macaroni and cheese, fresh out of the oven. The rich, thick, cheese sauce combined with delicious noodles is like dinner heaven! And of course the perfect topping for a serving of macaroni and cheese is some fresh tomatoes out of the garden...

Garden fresh!

4. Fresh tomatoes

Garden fresh tomatoes are one of the best parts of summer. They add a delicious spark to so many different foods. In salads, as a spaghetti sauce, on top of hamburgs... The possibilities are as endless as they are tasty!

Eat me!

5. Local strawberry farms

Locally grown berries are always the sweetest and most flavorful, plus it's nice to be able to support the farmers who live in my community. My dad brought me a huge box of strawberries this week which were grown by someone that he works with. I'm already planning the strawberry shortcakes, strawberry lemon pies, and tres leches cakes which I want to make with them. They're so delicious that some of them just have to be eaten fresh though! I washed and hulled a whole bowl of them yesterday and left them on the counter next to a sign which said "EAT ME". Needless to say, the bowl was empty by nighttime!
